A Message From Megan

Hey there! I'm Megan LaValley — a proud University at Albany grad with a degree in Informatics and a focus in Game Design & Development. You can find the resume stuff elsewhere on this site, so let's get personal.

I grew up in a small town in upstate NY with a lifelong love for gaming and tech. Funny enough, I almost went to school for musical theatre (wild), but somewhere in my 20s, I realized my true calling was behind the screen — not on stage.

That “aha!” moment led me to dive into game design, where I discovered my real passion: coding. I love the behind-the-scenes magic that brings games to life. Since then, I've earned my degree, started volunteering with New York Celebration of Women in Computing (NYCWiC), and picked up a few certifications along the way.

On the job front, I bring a mix of creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving to every project I touch. Whether it's debugging code, collaborating with a team, or learning a new tool on the fly, I'm all about jumping in, figuring it out, and getting things done. I'm excited to keep growing in tech — ideally somewhere that values innovation, inclusion, and growth.

When I'm not coding or job hunting, I'm probably gaming — currently hooked on Balatro, Elden Ring, and Oblivion Remastered. My favorites list is always growing, and I never pass up a chance to geek out over games or hear new suggestions. Feel free to reach out to me through LinkedIn or email to chat more and thank you for visiting my Portfolio site!
